How to clean wallpaper

Wallpaper CleaningWallpapers are beautiful household features which add a sophisticated touch to entire indoor atmosphere. However wallpapers despite their quality and resilience tend to accumulate dirt, dust and stains just like any other household feature. This is why wallpapers just like everything else that people have in their homes require a frequent and proper cleaning routine.

Special thanks to Carpet Cleaning Bromley for the tips.

The dry methods are the easiest way to remove dust from wallpapering. You can either dry sponge or electrostatic dust cloth the wallpapers in your home. Regardless which approach you use at the end you will have dust-free wallpapers which you will enjoy.

If you notice any stains on your wallpapering you must create your own cleaning solution to remove them. Get a bucket or laver and fill it with water. Pour into the water a small amount of dish soap. Make sure that you use clear soap to prevent staining your wallpapering with colored detergent. After all, your goal is to remove the stains from your wallpapers not to add new ones. If you don’t have the time to make your own stain remover you can simply head to one of your local supermarkets and by a commercial stain remover that is specially made for wallpaper.

Once that you have made or bought a stain remover dip a soft cloth or sponge into the bucket and laver and commence treating the stains. Never under any circumstances try scrubbing the stains because you will rip the wallpapering and you will have a bigger problem on your hands.

Wallpaper CleaningRegularly wring out your cloth or sponge while you are treating the stains on your walls. This way you will get rid of the excess cleaner and maintain the moisture levels to a minimum. If you fail to keep the moisture levels to a minimum the wallpapering will get too wet and will certainly begin to tear.

Wipe the stained areas until all stains are gone. However don’t treat only the stained areas because your wallpapers will have accumulated inconspicuous dirt as well. So once the stains are gone, wipe your wallpapering from top to bottom at least once. This way you will have the peace of mind that all dirt is removed from your wallpapers. Always work one section at a time.

Now rinse your wallpapering to remove all residues from the cleaning solution and then end the cleaning by pat drying your wallpapering. You can use a fan or hair dryer to speed-up the drying process.

Clever Ways to Make Tough Cleaning Chores Easy

Many seemingly tough and laborious cleaning chores around the house can be made easy and efficient. How so? Well, it is just a matter of using the right products and materials at the right time. Here are some basic tips that will make house cleaning tasks a breeze, without costing you a fortune.

Stubborn stains on the stove:

Stain CleaningThe stove is notorious for stains and burnt on residue. Stovetop cleaning is hard work especially when the stains have sat there for a week. The longer you leave the thing unattended, the more fossilised the stains will become. Don’t waste time if you don’t want the stains to become permanent exhibit.

Solution:

Right after you are done cooking, wet a couple of kitchen towels in warm water. Wait for the stove to cool down, remove the burners and place the towels over the spills and spots left from dishes you just cooked. Wait ten or so minutes for the caked stains to soften up and then wipe them clean using the towels. Stick the towels in the washing machine while still wet and give them a quick spin and they will be good as new.

Soap scum and scaling in the shower:

Cleaning soap scum and scaling around the bathroom and shower, usually translates to hours of hard yakka and less than perfect manicure. The longer you leave the soap scum unattended the harder it sets and the more effort and chemistry it takes to remove it completely. The same applies to lime scaling.

Solution:

Stain CleaningIn this case, a little bit of effort goes a long way. Each time after you have a shower, take the time to wipe down all tile and glass surfaces around the bathroom using a soft towel. Do this quickly so that the soap scum and scaling is still wet when you wipe it. Scaling occurs when calcium in fresh water mixes with the fatty acids commonly found in soap bars. In order to reduce scaling you can switch to liquid soap or body wash.

Bad smell and mould inside the washing machine:

Many washing machines develop a bad smell after time. Some of them even tend to grow mould around the door gasket and other moist, concealed places. If these issues are left unattended, you will not only have a load of bad smelling, freshly washed clothes, but also a leaky door seal. Get on it before it’s too late.

Solution:

Once a month, run an empty load – only hot water. Add oxygenated bleach cleaner which also works on the door gasket. Do this at least once every month.

Cool Trick Solutions to Tricky Cleaning Problems

Most people are faced with a long list of house cleaning chores on a weekly basis. Some of these chores are quite manageable, others are tricky and a real nuisance to deal with. Some common house cleaning issues have easy-fix solutions which don’t necessarily cost too much money or effort. Here are some things I was told by Cleaning Services London that you might find interesting:

Eradicating fridge breath:

Fridge CleaningThe fridge will develop a nasty interior smell after a certain amount of time, even if you were careful not to spill things, or refrigerate warm products.

Solution:

Find yourself a bunch of old newspapers. Clean the fridge’s interior as best as you can. Screw up the old newspapers and sprinkle them with enough water to make them dampish. Leave the wet newspapers in the fridge overnight and the nasty smell will be gone by the morning. You can also line the bottom of fridge drawers and other compartments inside the appliance with old newspapers in order to absorb the smell. Just don’t forget to replace them every fortnight or so.

Cleaning inside a toaster oven:

The toaster oven is small, hard to clean and notorious for drips and drops during cooking. Cleaning inside hard to reach places is a real nuisance.

Solution:

Thanks to London Oven Cleaners I’ve got the solution for you. Get yourself some non-stick oven liner. Although the prefab size is meant for large ovens, you can still cut it down to size and use it in the toaster oven. Remove the drip tray and use it as a size guide – cut the liner down to size and place it underneath the drip tray. Spills and mess will be a breeze to remove from the liner. When the liner gets too messy just stick in the dishwasher for a quick wash.

Bath tub drain clogs:

Bathroom CleaningNo matter what hygiene and cosmetic products you use, no matter how much hairs you shed every time you take a bath, a clog in the bath tub drain is just a matter of time. Many seemingly effective drain cleaning products can actually damage your plumbing, which means more money spent on plumbers.

Solution:

Go back to basic chemistry – pour half a cup of bicarb soda down the bathtub drain, followed by half a cup of white vinegar. Let the concoction foam and froth for about five or so minutes then wash everything down with hot water. This cleaning method will also deal with the nasty drain smell. The same can be done for the kitchen drain.
